RCA P46924 Problem

Howdy everyone,
I recently purchased an RCA 46' projection TV, model #P46924, manufacturers date Feb 2001. It was in working order until I plugged the set into an outlet that is apparently bad. A surge went through my equipment and I heard a small pop from behind the TV. I took the back panel off the set and could smell a hot-electric odor. I let it sit overnight and tried to plug it in again (in a different outlet), but It appears the TV is dead (nothing happens when I push the power button). The surge was so strong that it tripped the breaker in the breaker box of the house.
I have called all the local repair shops and all of the 3 that I got a hold of are either out of business or heading that way.
Any ideas?
