RCA Can't Post

I have a RCA F32632SB tv, and it just stopped working. Nothing lights up on the set, but there is power going to the set. Any help would be appreciated

Re: [badattitude] RCA [In reply to] Can't Post

Your set will be an RCA CTC187 chassis and the most common problem is a bad H.O.T. (Horizontal Output Transistor). This will be a Large 3 legged Transistor on an aluminum heat sink near the Flyback Transformer.

The second most common part to fail is the STK730 010 regulator IC. It is the largest IC in the set and it's mounted on a longer aluminum heat sink. When this IC goes bad there will also be a fairly large black diode that is shorted located just behind the vertical IC (click on image link below).

Well Dan's suggestions are as good a place to start as any.

Check HOT for shorts. IF No shorts, what is the voltage on the collector? If HOT shorts, Regulator IC and diode mentioned are stressed.

Well I see where I got the wrong part number.

How does the regulator look? Especially no short between pins 8/9 & pins 11/12

Pull IC and confirm above - check surronding components, especially the diode Dan mentioned - Obtain one and replace.

Any switched mode power supply secondary load shorts?
