Ripples in Screen Can't Post

Hi I got a 27' Insignia flatscreen tv for christmas. Im having a problem and maybe you could help out. My problem is On the sides of the tv there are ripples that go the complete height of the tv, someimes you can mask it by darkening the tv but this is no good. Do you have any ideas what could cause this? Such good picture on this tv except for this annoying problem

In Depth: The ripples are on each side of the tv. They ripple downward, and they don't move they are always there. maybe there is somthing wrong with the tube but I dont wanna get a service man here until maybe I could fix this my self.

Thanks alot for any help/advice

Sounds like the condition you have is due to a faulty capacitor in the horizontal deflection circuit. You would need to desolder and check all the caps in that section until you find the culprit. good luck
