STK4277 and STK4277-SL Can't Post

I know this has been a topic over the years, but I've read every single post about these IC's and no one has an absolute answer posted.

Does anyone know the exact differences between theses IC's (Convergence Yolk Drive Amp).
STK4277
STK4277-SL

Some say pinouts are different, some say the pins are bent differently, some say they are exactly the same, and other say there are completely different. I know many people have been frustrated with this one, but I'm just looking to put the confusion to rest.

The STK4277-SL is a direct substitute for the STK4277. Also the STK4279-SL is a direct substitute for both of them as the 4277 series has been discontinued.

If the STK4277-SL can be substituted for the 4277......Can the STK4277 substitute for the -SL? (it might sound stupid but some components can be interchanged one way but not the other)

Not sure about the reverse sub, but as I understand it the original STK4277 hasn't been around for awhile. All the replacements are listed as the -SL. Pioneer is substituting the STK4279-SL for both parts for use on their convergence boards.
