I have a Samsung HL-R5078W I got it for free from a friend who just got a new tv, knowing it had a problem, and now im trying to fix it. I am willing to spend some money to fix it, just not an insane amount.
Here is the problem:
I plug it in and turn on, the lamp light flashes for about 15-20 seconds,
The screen then turns on, I can get a blue screen with video input info on the screen as well
About 1-2min later the screen turns off and i get 3 flashing lights: timer, lamp, and standby/hi temp.
I then have to unplug it to start the whole process over.
I have done very little, because i can find very little on what to do, I have checked behind the bulb access panel to make sure the little switch for the panel is positioned correctly and it seams that it is.
At some point the tv had a new color wheel installed, not sure about the bulb.
And even though the problem was occurring before transporting I did transport it upside down, due to having a small car, but im mentioning it because i did.
I am willing to take it to a shop, if need be, I am pretty technically inclined and would rather do it myself. So if we are like 90+ percent sure on the problem than I may try it myself, advice is greatly welcomed.
