I recently purchased a 42" Samsung DLP. My problem is with over the air reception of analog signals. I live in a small market area that does have all major networks and must receive signals from up to 70 miles away. I have a long range directional which works well for my old analog television. If i turn the TV on to the channel with the low signal strength, it works fine. The picture is clear - possibly a little snow on bad days. If I then switch to a different channel either digital or analog and then switch back to the original low signal channel, the TV no longer receives the signal and a no signal message is displayed. I called the local authorized dealer and he told me that is just the way it is. It sounded like he was backed up and didn't want to bother with me. I called Samsung but could not get past their teir 1 support who did not seem to know much. Should the TV react this way? If so, why does it receive the channel upon startup then never again until I turn it off? It's not the antenna. It works fine on my other TV.
