Samsung LCD fault Can't Post

Hello, I have a 2 year old LE32r74 Samsung that has developed a fault.
The digital picture is fine, but anything played through the scart sockets has bands of horezontal dotted lines covering the lower 3/4 of the screen, the same fault shows up on analogue tuner and when I plug my PC in, (but this is only the bottom 1/2 of the screen)
This is spoiling an otherwise good TV set, I have tried 2 local repair shops (Leicester) but they are not keen to look, saying most faults are new PCB boards and when they quote, the price frightens off the customer, one said try Currys.
Having read the forums I know even a callout by Currys could cost 1/2 the price of a new set.
Has anyone seen this fault and could perhaps advise me.
Thanks in advance for any help.

all flat screen repairs need a second mortgage to pay for the repairs.you should have taken the extended warranty. new PCB's are very expensive.this sounds like a control board fault or possibly A/V switching,so your choice is pay up or dump it and buy a new tv.
