Seleco TV fault Can't Post

First of all hello to all i'm new on these forums hope will learn and help someone.

I have a Seleco Tv (Seleco-FPC2001-Twist) which at first was arching from the FBT and since i didn't have time i left it working (was working fine apart from the noise of the arching from time to time). After some time the TV lost picture and only a grey screen with white lines appeared, but i managed to replaced a fuse resistor from the FBT output and now no picture but sound is ok....

I was wondering if this is a problem related to the FBT or else maybe something else.

Thanks again

the flyback needs to be replaced as the arcing has destroyed other things. If you had a plain grey screen with flyback trace lines you should check the 180-200volt line supplying the video out stage on the tube base. it's probably missing so I suspect you have an open circuit low value resistor feeding the voltage to the tube base and a faulty video ic on the heatsink, also on the tube base.

first of all thanks.... i have seemed to fix the grey screen with the trace lines but now i just have sound and no picture (totally black screen). also the filaments on the tube seem to light

So replace the jungle IC or other part that the flyback "arching" has taken out...

Vert osc. / horiz drive / video-chroma processing. aka: color TV in 1 chip chip.

May not even be that. For example: IF the vertical output IC were bad and microprocessor receives a sample of vert and suddenly its not there...

turn up the screen voltage control slightly, lower control pot on the flyback transformer. if you see a horizontal line then you have a vertical scan fault

Re: [marcgal] Seleco TV fault [In reply to] Can't Post

so do you now have a plain lit up screen with flyback lines showing? if so and the sound is ok, then you have lost video information. check the jungle ic as JTS suggested and the feedback pulse from the flyback tx. to the ic as it may be missing. could also be the video out ic on the tube base but thats less likely as when that is faulty you end up with full brightness on screen. Have you changed the flyback transformer yet as further arcing will cause all kinds of other faults.

Follow the SIGNAL (Not the voltage) wire bundle from the CRT neck board to the main board. Find the largest IC (most # of pins) within 6" diameter from where wire bundle attaches to main board. Google the number printed on this IC.

Edit: IC12

the ic part number is tda9364ps/n1/3s0509, but i can't find a datasheet for it on the net. do you think i should replace it or its's not worth the hassel ?

Here you go:
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/TDA9364-datasheet.html

I'd make sure all VCCs are present, all inputs to chip are there and all outputs are present.

I checked all inputs to the ic which seem fine, but when i'm trying to check the output current for HOUT the TV power goes off...... do you know what happening please ?

nope as i said before when i try to check the Hout ( in current) of the jungle ic the TV shuts of the power.... now will try to change the jungle ic if it's not that expensive...... If nothing changes i will give it up ;{

Why would you "open" that trace, insert your meter leads, set meter to measure amperes and try to measure the current? Now setting the meter to volts without opening the trace would let you read the volts present there.Shocked
