Sony Convergence Problem

Hello,
I have a Sony projection television model number KP-41T65 (January 1999 production). Last week the television began displaying green and blue shadows in the picture. The picture seems dimmer also. I was advised by a tech. that this is a convergence issue and the repairs could be costly however since it is Sony it is worth the cost. Can anyone give an opinion on this problem and advise on repairs. Thank you.
