Sound Chip Problems Can't Post

Hello All - My Sylvania 27" SRT2227W TV has a bad sound chip. I guess it is a common problem with these TV's. The part is foreign however?... Anyone know anything about this? How easy is this to find, install? Thanks - Tristan

What is the chip, How do you know its faulty and why should it be a common problem, sound faults on TV are rare except when people plug AV in when units are working or with wooly socks on across a nylon carpet
