Stuck in standby Can't Post

Advent model: ADV32L
32 inch flat panel LCD

The TV will not power up, but occasionally it does.

It has power as the standby led is red. When I press the on button on either the remote or TV it will not power the TV on. However when left in standby mode for few days it will power up an TV works just fine. Its like pot luck if it going to work or not. So frustrating.
Your guidance would be warmly received.
Thank you
