Sylvania lc320sl1 Can't Post

i have a sylvania lc320sl1 tv with this inverter board:

http://www.shopjimmy.com/emerson-sylvania-a01fpm1v-001-iv-inverter-cba.htm

The problem with the tv is that when i plug it in it automatically turns on then off in a few seconds. So i took off the connector towards the bottom middle of the inverter closest to the 2 metal brackets and instead of the indicator light turning red to green to red meaning it shut off. the light turned from red to blinking green to green which im pretty sure means it powered on correctly. Does that mean the inverter is bad or the ribbon cable or could it be something else. Will just buying and replacing the inverter fix the problem?

You are "usually" right in your assumption. The only thing I will add, make sure you disconnect the ribbon cable going to the panel (small one at the top of the board), then reconnect the one you removed. This inverter will not fire with a broken panel.

Good luck,

That is correct.

If the fault goes back to what you originally had, then you've probably got a problem with the inverter or lamp in the panel. If you get normal turn on,,,,and you will also have backlight, then you've got a shorted or broken panel.

That confirms the panel isn't shorted.

You more than likely have a bad inverter, but if you can hang loose for a few days, I'll check and see if there are any service bulletins on this one (I have them saved on my work PC). In the mean time, could you PM me the first 4 characters of your serial number (this denotes the specific parts in the set) just in case it's relevant.
