Hello , just a question on a Technosonic Q29 . was running ok apart from the picture was always very dark, even with the brightness up full.
The set eventually failed, the fault traced to a diode (unmarked sintered glass package type sod 64 on the lopt area of the board, which was shorted and loose ) which I imagined may have been a BYT 77 or similar.??. This I replaced with what I could find in my junk box... a mur4100e, fired it up and the set ran ok but the picture was even darker than before. It seemed ok until I tried to increase the brightness , when I got to an acceptable level of brightness the diode let go . back to square one..
Any Ideas appreciated. what diode should i have used and where is the best source of components U.K.
