Toshiba 27a32	Can't Post

I changed the batteries in my remote control. Now I have only a distorted black and white picture on channel 3 (channel that TV uses to communicate to cable box). Channel 4 has a blue screen asking to chose language and I cannot get any remotes to allow me to change this screen.

Are ANY of the "any remotes" you tried Toshiba remotes ???
Are they generic Universal remotes ???
Do the pushbottons on the bottom front work OK ???
Can you adjust the Vol , chan up , etc with those pushbuttons ???

Did this problem show up immediately AFTER you changed the batterys ???
Are the batterys in correctly ???
Polarity in there right ???

May need this later;...
Do you have a digital camera ????

Used a Toshiba remote.
Tried a Comcast remote; did not operate the TV only turns it on and off.
Push buttons all work for channels and volume.
Yes problem occurred immediately after changing batteries
Batteries are in correctly
Use to camera question

Since the Comcast remote turned the TV on & off , we can rule out the TV...
The problem seems to be the remote..
The batterys ARE NEW , right ???

How much electronic/TV repair background experience do you have ????

Yes, new batteries. Yes I have a digital camera. I am a nurse and tinkerer. I have no TV repair experience.

I have the Toshiba remote that came with the TV and the Comcast remote.

OK , that's great....
This test is for the original Toshiba remote....
Turn your camera on....
Point the remote directly at the camera...(About 2' away from the lens)..
While looking at the camera display (You should see the front of the remote on it) , push a button that is for the TV ONLY & you should see a dot flashing in the center of the remote...

Just to verify;...
The Toshiba remote is the one you are having a problem with , right ???
