Toshiba 62HM84 problem	Can't Post

I have a 62HM84 toshiba DLP. Recently it has started doing something strange. When i go to turn it on it acts like the light is blown. I get sound but no picture. then the Green and red (on and off) lights flash back and forth. Just like when the light is blown. But if i disconnect power and let it sit for a bit and plug back in it seems to start up and run just fine. The lamp is not blown for I took out and checked it and it works after i do the power thing. What could cause this?

Hello Raydaddy!
Power supply hickup or convergence issue.
Try to replace all the "small type" electrolytics in primary stage of power supply (values between 0,47 and 100湩/50V). Try to startup device again and see what happens. Also look for bad solder joints on power supply board and bad electrolytics in secondary stage.
In the case you replaced them without positive response from the tv also replace primary electrolytic capacitor (68 to 220uF/400 or 450V type). Look for burnt resistors or ceramic disc capacitors in convergence circuit.

Have you replaced the Lamp Lately? You want to do this 1st to eliminate this possibility. If the problem persists replace the balast.
P.S. I have expertise and technical info. on this set.

This advice is like using an atomic bomb the very 1st sign of a problem. First things first. This TV has consumable parts replace those things first. The Lamp for instance. This Set has no convergence adjustment or circuits.
