Toshiba LCD TV Can't Post

Type: LCD TV
Manufacturer: Toshiba
Model:46G310U
Symptoms:

TV Powers on and displays Television Show through Direct TV Box for 30 minutes to 1 hour and then powers off. After being off for a few minutes the TV turns back on and continues playing whatever channel was on before the TV powered off. The Power Light does not stay on when the TV turns off.

The Direct TV box does not cut off during this process.

The TV, Direct TV Box and HD Booster are all plugged into a surge suppressor. These devices have been plugged directly into multiple outlets bypassing the surge suppressor. No other devices (AC Unit, Computers, etc.) are connected to the same electrical circuit.

The Direct TV Box was originally connected with an HDMI Cable into HDMI1 and then HDMI2 with no change of symptoms. Direct TV Box was then connected with Component Cables with no change to TV symptoms.

When the TV is not connected to Direct TV Box or any other Device the screen displays "No Input" and stays on for hours without powering down.

When the TV is connected to a DVD Player through Component Cables the TV never cuts off.

When the TV is connected to a laptop through HDMI cable the TV never cuts off.

Direct TV has sent three technicians and replaced the Direct TV Box with no change to TV symptoms. Am I wrong to think that a DC Current may be coming through the Direct TV Box and hitting the main-board causing the TV to cut off?

Power Board was removed, the information on the power board is Chicony PK101V2520I Rev:01

Sleep Timer has been checked, and disabled. So Sleep is not the problem.

Does THAT Direct TV box play on any other TV without the other TV having an allergic reaction?

EDIT: Sleep Timer or other power saving settings?

2nd try: Neighbors/relatives you can try THAT Direct TV box on their sets??

EDIT: Can one assume that this TV and this box were working happily together at some point before this problem occurred?

Will test that theory tomorrow. Other pages recommend replacing the power board, this is about the best pricing I've found, so many places are out of stock.

Are there webpages you recommend to order parts from?

Do other power saving settings function correctly? (Page 46 of owner's manual - page 47 of online/pdf)
You may as well try the sleep timer for correct operation too.

Nowhere along ANY of the AC cords or surge protectors, etc. have the ground or the 'wide' blade of plugs been defeated?

TV Power Cord has no ground plug.... can you provide a link to the owner manual you are referring too?

Re: [jts1957] Toshiba LCD TV [In reply to] Can't Post

TV is supposed to give a warning 1 minute before powering down so I don't believe it is a sleep setting.... I think this is a board related issue, the question is what board?

Re: [delta5] Toshiba LCD TV [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm asking IF the 'Sleep Timer,' the 'Automatic Power Down' and the 'No Signal Power Down' ARE working as Toshiba describes.
Do they? If Yes, then they are ruled out as a possible cause.

Can one assume that this TV and this box were working happily together, in this location, at some point before this problem occurred?

I'm just trying to eliminate possibilities.

Re: [jts1957] Toshiba LCD TV [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes when the sleep timer is set to turn off (example 1 hr) and the TV does stay on for that long it will warn of sleep mode and then power down, and stay off. The TV was working fine with the previous DirectTV Box before problems occured.
