This tv was hit by lightning:
Replaced the following which were damaged:
Location no.s taken off board:
Q840
T840
QA02
Q501
Q883
Problem:
When you first plug up set will come on and turn off, red light is flashing. Can short outQ830 set will come on and picture looks okay, color ok, sound okay, tuning okay.
Release the short and tv will go off.
Do have 12 volts on relay.
Voltages I have taken:
Q830: emitter..0 Base...0 Collector...5 volts
Q843: emitter...0 Base...0 Collector...12.5 volts
Qa02: ;pin 5, 6, 8 all have 5 volts
Q840: Pin 1...5 volts Pin 2...5 volts Pin3..0 volts Pin 4...3.9 volts Pin 5...12.5 volts.
Problem cannot turn on with on/off switch:
