Toshiba video problem Can't Post

I have a 27" Toshiba television and I am having a video related issue. The television won't receive the signal from cable. It does display video via s-video cables etc.

I have been told that the rf modulator is broken, what do you think the problem is and is it worth fixing?

The television is about 10 years old.

I think you have a defective tuner.

So would that be worth fixing and would that require me to bring the television into a store to have it fixed? Or is this something that I could potentially tinker around with myself to get working again? Thanks for the reply

If you have a VCR you could use it for tuning.
