Tripler Grundig CUC6360 Can't Post

Hi, steve from Malta, writing my first post re no pic for Grundig CUC6360. First symptom was arching of transformer to neighbouring components or especially ground panel at the back of the TV. Rarely, the TV would turn on, but at the end it stopped completely and the fault was often arching in the inside of the trippler. I have bought an equivalent new LOPTX from donberg but unfortunately it did not solve the problem, still trippler internal arcing.

I went to a friend who gave me a similar trippler, saying he is not sure if it's good or not. I replaced it and still no good, now I wish to try and play the last card and buy a new tripler. However a couple of questions:

1) Are the chances high that the tripler is the faulty component not the tube or other expensive components? p.s. with the CRT board out of the tube, (=tube disconnected) still trippler arcing.

2) The original trippler code is Philips 4502KD 92201 36101 while the replacement from my friend is 29201.361.18 (GDE VDE-Reg-Nr. 4119). Maybe they are not compatible after all? My concern is that this tripler looks new (no dust or signs of use!)

3) Did I wire up correctly? I placed the long wire in the LOPTX and short wire in the CRT ip holder. What happens if I reverse in case its the other way round?

4) Finally, where can I buy a replacement. Tried Donberg and HQelectronica, but nothing sensible comes with the original code 4502KD92201.

Thanks for your help, wish to repair the set after spending 45Eur on the LOTPX, assuming the tripler is the remaining fault. &lt;br&gt; <br>

Re: [Marz] Tripler Grundig CUC6360 [In reply to] Can't Post

After some research, I think already have an answer for questions 2.
According to the schematic, (table **) tripler 361.01 and 361.18 can be used, but fitting an R713 820Ohms with the former and 1.2kOhms for the latter (while the schematic just say 1kOhm!).
