Vizio E291-A1 Problems Can't Post

Good afternoon, I have a Vizio E291-A1 that I'm having power problems with. Issue started a couple of weeks ago when trying to turn the set on with the remote all that would come on is the power light on the front of the set. Then I would have to unplug the set & plug it back in a couple of times & it would then turn on with the remote. Now even unplugging & plugging back in it will not power up, not even the power light on the set. Up until this issue the set was working fine. I'm thinking a power supply issue possibly ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Re: [dt1958] Vizio E291-A1 Problems [In reply to] Can't Post

I have already pulled the back off the set & I don't see any visible damage to the power supply or main board. Was just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction as to which board might be needed per the symptoms the set is having.

I think you can rule out the Base/Stands & remotes. Wink

Appreciate the link jts1957, any idea which board might be causing the issue or is it better to replace both the power supply & main board ? Thank You

I'd try repairing or replacing the Main board first. Make sure PS is putting out the 5.2V (at least).

I think only you know which Main board you have, (SJ shows more than one). Nor do I know your abilities.

For EXAMPLE:

Part 2 symptom seems to match, but again I do NOT know which board you have.

Okay I plugged the set in & checked for DC voltage at the CN903 connector on the power supply. Readings on the black & brown wires were 1.87 & 0.60. These two wires on the board are marked +5.2V . I guess I should start with replacing the power supply on this unit instead of the main board right ?
