Vizio E600i-B3 Can't Post

My Vizio has started to have several dark rectangular shaped boxes as can be seen in the picture shared through the link below. Any idea what would cause this? I have reset the TV to factory settings as suggested by VIZIO, but this didn't resolve the issue.

This should work. You can see a dark rectangle on the right and one on the left.

Wgokc;.....

I see a blotched faded area on both sides...

I need to tell you that I do not work on LED/LCD or Plasma TVs...
Someone who is better qualified than I should come along hopefully soon & now see a decent pix of your problem....
Sorry , I did NOT mean to get your hopes up...

Have a GREAT day & weekend...

See if the SAME areas are affected when predominantly blue and green backgrounds are displayed.
How does global & local dimming affect those areas?

Regardless of color the areas still appear darker than the rest of the screen. If the screen is mostly blue there will just be a darker blue rectangle in that area. Same with green. When I switch between the different levels in the Auto Brightness Control the areas will just get darker or lighter, but still darker than the rest of the screen.

If it involves local dimming, areas affected would correspond to rectangular areas in their video. The LED array is represented behind the rectangular grid.
So you either have defective LEDs or a Local dimming problem is involved. Can local dimming be turned off then on while you have same youtub logo (or better yet a 'purity' pattern) to see if EXACT same area involved.

Hopefully set is still under warranty.

Your set should be at approximately 1:16 second mark.

Yes, it's the exact same area when I cycle through the dimming setting. Always those two rectangle areas. It seems as those two areas are always dimmer in comparison to the rest of the screen. Unfortunately, it is no longer under warranty. Would it even be worth paying to have it repaired?

You missed the part about disabling the dimming feature to see if problem goes or stays.

No, I said I cycled through the settings and disabling it is part of that. Even when disabled the dark areas are still present.
