Unit is completely dead, with no +5 vdc standby. Get the rectified 166 volts and something which looks like a regulated 59v source, and a periodic 2-10 cycle further down the line. I'd like to get a schematic because I would imagine this is a relatively simple power supply problem.

Re: [pathfinder1941] Vizio VA26LHDTV10T [In reply to] Can't Post

just picked up one of these at the dump the other day. not surprisingly, it doesnt power up at all.

now i know nothing about hdtvs or how to fix them, but having experience with computer building/repair, im guessing it could simply just be a power supply issue. and with it opened up now, and browsing ebay for parts, i can see that the power supply is a easily removed board.

anyone have any tips or ideas on how to determine if this is the problem? or how to figure out what the problem is otherwise?

Throw boards at it (cheapest to most expensive) - or troubleshoot and replace the boards (in the most likely to least likely order to cause the symptom(s) you're experiencing) until it works.Crazy
