Zenith Thermistor Can't Post

Hi all,

I'm seeking the part number for a thermistor in a Zenith model SM2789BT8. The location ID on the chassis is RX3435. Zenith does not provide this part any longer. Does anyone have any idea of a suitable replacement or the values associated with the thermistor? An RCA 207768 looks close in size, but I don't want to torch the degauss.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jeff

Re: [jhall] Zenith Thermistor [In reply to] Can't Post

The Zenith P/N is 63-10710A and it is a 14.5 Cold PTC thermistor, You can check this against the NTE website to see if they list an NTE replacement. You might alsowant to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.

Thanks Mel!

Got the part # and ordered one. I have a GE 27" with the identical problem, but at least the part # is readily available.

I appreciate the help!

I have the same problem with a Zenith SY2768S.
Is it a critical value part or is there a range of values that will work on such a simple circuit?
I can't find the exact specification on this thermistor.
One of the two connectors was unsoldered ant i broke it trying to solder it back .Very easy to break.
After soldering the three pieces back togheter the cold value was still around 14 ohms but the circuit refuse to do the degaussing job
Someone knows?
