Power issue Can't Post

Hello,
Brand new here and looking for some advice. I'll preface this by saying I have no intention of trying to fix this myself, I simply wish to know what the problem might be in and how expensive it might be to repair. That way i can make the decision to either go ahed or purchase a new TV.
Lat evening whil watching a dvd, the tv simply shut down.....neither the remote nor the front panel buttons will switch it back on. I've checked the power supply and it's good. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Thanks for any help and advice....the TV is a Sony Trinatron about 12 years old.

Re: [techchris] Power issue [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for the response....any idea of the cost of a flyback transformed with labour, or is it something that can be repaired rather than replaced? Also, is this the most likely cause for the situation, or could it be something else?
Thank you,

Simon Jung
