IF ALL proposed substitutes cross over to the SAME NTE number you can use any of them. If they don't, NTE must see some reason that you don't see as to why they are NOT interchangeable.

Just because Chevy and Ford both use "starters," that doesn't make them interchangeable.

NTE has no info on an5539
i have used subs for parts that does not have the same NTE.If i was the one installing the ic base on the date sheet i would try both.Am just trying to help a friend so i want to give the one that is more likely to work.Thanks for the links but am from the caribbean an odering is a last resort
