backlight issue Can't Post

Hey Guys,

I have a 55" baird LCD TV, fault was no image on the screen but sound was playing, tried the usual, checked different inputs etc and ended up swapping the processor board. That worked for a day or so but then same think happened again. I saw that one fuse on the master backlight board had blow (fuse c16), I have today fitted a new master board, TV worked for a few minutes and the same C16 has blown again!!!

Any ideas?

Cheers

Get a better quality (brand) set?

You're wanting repair info on an obscure brand. They apparently denote fuses as 'c,' whereas most prominent brands call them 'f'.

You supply NO model number.
You supply NO processor or master board part numbers.

We'll get right to work trying to locate service literature, repair tips, etc.

Hi JTS,

Thanks for your reply, apologies for not including more information initially.

The model of the TV is a BAIRD CN55BAIR, I agree its a sh!tty make but want to fix this one!

The Power board is a MLT5501L
The Process board is a CV109H

Here is a picture of the blown "fuse"...

Many thanks in advance

'Tis a 'capacitor.' Probably the same as the ones beside it.
If a DVM set to 'ohms' were placed across any of the intact ones, you would probably get a very low reading. IF the defective capacitor were removed and the same measurement were taken ... but since you swapped out the board and same cap fried, that would tend to indicate something defective 'off board.' One (or more) CCFL bulbs in the panel perhaps.
