Yes, Screen is broken & a new LCD panel costs more than the TV is worth new.

Before you scrap the TV you could sell the boards on eBay or CraigsList or other sites similar to people trying to repair their TV.... If that is an LED TV people would even buy the backlight LED strips.

It appears all the boards are still good or the TV wouldn't light-up to that stage & you could even use that picture in your ad to show a potential buyer that the set still works other than a broken screen (they'd feel more secure in buying the boards).

If you give us the model number of your TV we could give you a general idea of what you might ask for the boards & we could likely tell you how many boards are in that set that people would be looking for.

It's unfortunate that the TV is not worth repairing however in selling the boards separately on the internet you can expect to get between $200 - $300 which is better than tossing it to the curb.

Judging by a few of my suppliers the boards in your TV are as follows...

Tcon Board -- Approximate value $45
Main Signal board -- Approx value $75
Master Backlight Inverter Board --Approx $45
Slave Backlight Inverter Board -- Approx $45
Power Supply -- Approx $65

The above boards may go for more & be sure to have the buyer pay for shipping costs on top.

Even though your TV is getting to be older, the boards are still popular for anyone trying to repair their own TV... Another board in that set that is not as popular is the button or Key Control Board (the board that has the buttons for changing channels & volume etc.) They don't fail as often as the other boards in the set but they do still eventually fail -- Approx $15 -$20

The speakers may sell for $10 - $15 but are not as popular so may take a while to sell.

If you have an original remote control & as long as it's in good condition it would sell for $10 - $20 & it would be a more popular item than the speakers & key control board.

There might be a chance that someone needs the TV stand too if they maybe had theirs mounted on a wall & decided to take it off & many people misplace or throw their stand away thinking they'd never need it, I know this from people coming into the shop on a regular basis for that reason -- Aprox $25

Best of luck

Dan
