ctc203ca5 Can't Post

I have a 36" RCA that is dead, but when plugged in it makes a high pitched squeal from the power supply. The HOT was shorted and I can't seem to find anything else. I resoldered the inductor that seems to be a problem but I have heard that the flyback is also a problem. Was wondering if there is anyway to test or if anyone had any other ideas before powering up with a new HOT. THanks!

Unless you gave the proper equipment, there is no way to check the flyback short of wasting another HOT (which you will surely do if the flyback is bad).

I was told that you cold pull the collector of the hot and see if sound was restored to help determine if the flyback was bad. Was also wondering if anyone had some other hints of items to check. Thanks.

 Resolder all horizontal sectrion :
Transformer, transistors, resistors and specially a little coil
next to the HOT. Take out the coil and clean carefully the
leads and reinstall it.Then put the new HOT.

This is a frecuently fail in this RCA model ,because there are bad solder joints in horizontal section ,and it is cause
HOT is shorted.
