cut plug Can't Post
If you splice the plugin wire, can that effect the picture? Of course it was taped back together. Can that cause the vertical lines in the picture?

it's not safe to tape join mains cables as someone may trip on it or pull it and it can come apart with the resulting flash which blows the fuses in your house. if its a figure of 8 connection just buy a new lead. if not a new one can be attached inside the tv under the cable grip.
