help me	Can't Post

hello i am new here. i signed up to see if anyone can help me. i have a toshiba 20AF42. the problem is that there is only a little ammount of actual tv showing. the black it on the top and bottom. it it about2/3 black and 1/3 tv. this happens not only when i watch tv but when i play video games. please if you can give me advice

It sounds like a vertical deflection problem. Check for bad solder joints and dodgy capacitors around the v-deflection chip. (chip will be on heatsink plate)

Check your local library for SAM Photofact #4662. It will give you the schematic diagram and probably troubleshooting instrutions. One or more of the electrolytic caps in the vertical circuit are bad and need to be replaced. If you can't look at it at the library, you can download it at www.samswebsite.com for $27.50 (looks likw their prices have gone up again).
