I have a JVC AV27980 which does not want to turn on. I turned it off at bedtime, and awoke to it being on but displaying video3. Iused the remote to get to the picture and got a clear picture and sound. After turning it off it returned to video 3. I went thru the previous procedure and got the picture back. It will no longer turn on. I read a past message that it might be a microprocessor. I see a 64 pin one labelled MN1876478 is that possibly the one.

That is probably the microprocessor but it is a kind of expensive item to be replaced just on spec. Also, replacing a 64 pin IC is not a simple task even for an experienced tech. I would suspect the memory chip (probably IC702 near the micro) before the micro itself.
