kv32v15	Can't Post

hi all

i have a kv32v15 trinitron. it takes longer and longer to get a picture when i first turn it on. it now takes about 2 minutes before i get a pic. if i switch channels it also takes 1-2 min. before pic comes back. audio is fine. after 15-20 minutes it works normal. cant afford a new one right now. does anyone know if this means end of the line for my tv, might it last a little longer or can i fix it myself with help. thank-you walt

It sounds as if the sun may be going down in your picture tube. Look on the back of your set for the manufacture date, and if it is more than 10 years old, it is time to re-new!

Yes it is the tube but its just slow, it could last some time yet, I knew one guy who had his kids awitch on at 3.30 so all would be fine for the 6.00 news. There are all sots of fixes for this, most only last a few months and tubes are obsolete.
