169 for a lamp is cheap compaired to others out there, this seems to be the big thing people over look when thet buy a DLP or LCD projection, the bulb will fail they claim in owners manuals that they should last as long as 20000 hours this is rarley the case. As with most sets that require a lamp good air flow, clean the filter and as these lamps are spendy don't use your set as a night light
