magnavox dead Can't Post
magnavox #23mt2336/17. i press the on button the green light comes on the in two to three seconds it goes out. the remote does the same thing.
took off back looked at board didn't see any blown capators.

i consider blown capacitor that is popped open with insides visible. know nothing about testing these although i have a ohm volt etc. testing device. so that's all i could diagnose. googled this question and most answers mentioned blown capacitors. my origanal name here was 4uzindian. but had to change it. i have been since last september been dumpter diving and thats where i got this tv. any easy things i could check. if not i'll bring it back . thanks for your answer.

Defective capacitors can be bad without blowing their tops. you should check them with an ESR meter and if still in doubt, de-solder and check!
