if you mean you have a line going across your screen with no video to the top or bottom of that line. then check your verticle transistor and diodes in your verticle section of the board with a dvm. you can do this with the power turn off to the tv...good luck

No, it has lines (somewhat small) all the way up and down it and the whole screen seems to jump.

if you havin tried yet....try heating up and resoldering your flyback trans for possibly cold solder joints.

also check for bad or leaking caps in your horz&vert deflection section

If you don't know where these parts are , you need to bite the bullet and pay a Tech to heal your problem, or landfill and buy a new one!Whatever you do, don't go PLASMA!

the flyback trans is the device on the board that has the cord going from it to the anode of the pic tube. What ever you do dont grab that cord while the tv is turn on it puts out anywhere from 15k to 30k volts...k= stands for thousands. The wires that are coming from the pic tube yoke that looks like a big coil back to the board is normally your convergence area...remember the warning!!!!! are it will get your attention really quick...if you not sure then take it to a tech and possibly live another day to talk about it....good luck
