no cable questions Can't Post

Hello,
My old TV just broke and i need a new one. I do not have any cable, satellite...etc....I need a TV that has good reception from an antenna. All i watch is the basic local channels. Is there a difference in the tuners for picking up a over the air signal? I have read stuff about qam and NTSC types of tuners...I want to spend about 500 bucks on something, but don't want to buy something less or more than i need........
Any suggestions
Thanks

most any tv will do but I have noticed that some of the cheap tv's such as the sylvania's at sears have only vhf and high vhf and no longer have uhf so you might want to ck that
