phillips tv Can't Post
tv screen is black. You turn it on it makes a noise, the power light blinks and nothing. Tv is about 1 1/2 years old.

It lasted you that long? Lucky:

I will never purchase a philips product ever again. I bought two (philips) satellite receivers, both of which broke, one never worked out of the box, and this Television, lasted only 6 months with moderate use. It's a real shame because I really liked it. Not again!

Modern day TVs are built to a price, What you read here as to "its crap" etc is just the opinions of those who have been unlucky. Philips is a multinational company who make the chipsets for most TVs, so saying I wont get philips, is like saying I wont watch TV. Your TV has a fault which has triggered the protection, without testing no one can say what it will be.
