phillips tv fault Can't Post

hi i recently got a phillips 28pt4418/05 tv and we keep getting a green spot on the screen that fades after a while as if a magnet has been put near it,any ideas what it can be?also part of the picture on the left side is sometimes missing(hubby cant see footie time!!!) so you cant see all the writing etc is this because its a fault or because its a 4.3 screen?any advice appreciated

Re: [tlj102030] phillips tv fault [In reply to] Can't Post

the green spot is caused by either a faulty degausse thermistor (minor) or a faulty tube(major).its called doming and is common on cheap crt's used these days. turn the contrast down to less than 75% and it may help. the picture size is adjusted in the service menu.
