Frown I have a 36" rca ctc203ca5 F32649 the set went dead and found the horizontal output transistor shorted . Replaced it and now the set makes a loud squeal noise as soon as the ac power plug is pluged into the ac outlet. The squeal sounds like it is coming from the transformer down dehind the horizontal output transistor any ideas.

That transformer (flyback) is bad. A typical RCA failure. DO NOT CONTINUE to operate the set or you will be paying for another HOT as well.

Unimpressed the transformer I was refering to was not the flyback transformer ther is a smaller one down further on the board.
