samsung repair Can't Post

I have a 26" Samsung tube tv that i removed the case off of to use as a arcade monitor.. Took the case off and got it mounted and there is no picture. Turns on makes all the fun degaussing and crackling noises. The normal buzz noise changes when I switch channels just no picture. It has a separate board for the ir and the power button that got broke in half in the process but i do not need the ir and i figured out what pins are power.

Any basic stuff i can check?

thanks

Arcade monitors usually don't need/use tuner. R/G/B/H&V Sync; some even use SVGA plugs.

Of course you could connect cable to it and watch HBO.Cool

i think you misunderstood. I am using a tv as a arcade monitor that will hook to a pc via s-video. I got it all handled except for the fact i have no video after i took the case off and mounted it. Its gotta be something easy. I do get a little about 20v ac shock from the grounds which is a little weird but i have little experience with tvs.

You are attempting to put it on a external input (A/V1, Line In)? Usually NOT channel up/channel down. "VIDEO" button on remote perhaps?

This implies you DID have video BEFORE taking the case off and mounting it.Unsure

20VAC - could be worse. Try holding a cold water pipe and a ground at the same time with opposite hands.

Ok, I'll state the obvous questions:
1) did set the tv to the proper input?
2) define "no video" no hv no sound no anything or just no video?
3) do you see a menu if you press the menu button?

I was "shocked" to read some of the other stuff, but I will refrain from commenting. I hope you read the site dislaimers.

*sigh*
Too vague
How about going through the questions above, answering them in a clear and succinct way.
"no light from the tube doesn't tell me if you get a menu, sound,or what mode the set is in".

really, this is amazing. No menu nothing the tube is not lit up , no photons are coming out of the screen.

I do get the highfrequency buzzing sound from the electronics and you can hear it change when you switch channels and inputs. It degausses like normal.

thanks

Ok so everything works EXCEPT getting a pix?
Off the top of my head:
1) some older sets had "service mode" switches that when set in a position would intentionally kill the video. These were usually a plastic toggle switch located on the CRT "neck board". You may have hit that.

2) video mute due to vertical deflection failure.

NEON - hold glass bulb against - NOT leads.

Confirms you have high voltage.

Without model number - can't search for service literature to find out how CRT filament is supplied with power.

Dude! You don't make it easy.
No model number, vague info, etc.
Well, my friend, it's like this:
If there is no crt filament light (and you checked this in the dark), then that is a bad thing.
On the neck board check for filament continuity. ( labelled H) If that's Ok, then there is an open circuit between the filiment connections and the flyback.
This could take the form of loose wire, cracked board, open solder or open fuseable resistor link.
Since you have chucked the model data, that's all anybody can tell you.
Good luck...
