See if line moves to a different spot when you change the aspect ratio. If it stays in same spot = panel =

So when set is cold you CAN change the aspect ration (as many times as you desire) and the line moves to a different location - UNTIL THE SET WARMS UP?

I'm having trouble envisioning ANY part (Resistor, capacitor, diodes, transistors or ICs) where "Looks good" is the definitive test to check them. Even a glass fuse can "Look Good" yet be bad or vica versa.Crazy
Although every one of the parts listed above CAN fail in ways that are obvious just looking at them.

i know looking good does not mean a lot but like i said before there are two little lines but thats not the problem the picture is washed out i mean it is real dark and smeared to and after about 3 minutes its like when you first turn a good tv on the picture comes on great after 3 minutes of warm up ...

Am I reading the word according to johnj incorrectly?

Now there are two lines. Problem getting worse?

Sounds like a typical panel delamination. If you press on the upper left side when the problem is visible, it should go away. There hasn't been a sure fire fix for it yet. But a few are working on it (me included).

Can you get a picture of it? This can confirm the problem.

yes i'll try to get a picture but like i said it only takes about 2-3 minutes and then the picture is good all day it seams like the colder the tv is the longer it takes to come on with a great picture.. thanks, john

the picture is fine know i had it on a little bit ago so it has to be real cooled off before it does it once you turn it on it takes all most all day before it does it...

Re: [johnj] samsung tv [In reply to] Can't Post

It comes from the sync lines lifting slightly. If you take the panel apart, you just touch the ribbon cable and the problem goes away.

Once it heats up, it gets a good connection. I've fixed a few by heating and re-gluing the cable to the panel.

For now, yes leave it alone. I am still working on perfecting a technique that will work and hold up.. Messing with it can make it worse.
