sanyo dp47460 Can't Post

hi my name is justin. as the title suggests i have a sanyo dp46470 47'" lcd tv. lately its been randomly turning off on me, especially while using my ps3 or watching an hd channel. it will still turn off occasionally while watching regular tv but not nearly as quick. when i try to play a game with higher graphics it only lasts 5 minutes or so. it seems to me that there is probobly something inside getting too hot but im not sure what it could be or if i can fix it. any ideas would be greatly appriciated, thanks in advance!

Is it dropping the P/S on pulse? Is the power supply dropping output? Is backlight dropping while the set is on or does the set actually turn off?

it literally just shuts off as if someone hit the power button, the sound fades for just a second and then its off. i can turn it right back on but depending what im doing it will shut right back off in a minute or so and the third time i need to unplug it for a few minutes (i assume to reset something inside) and then it all starts again. if im only watching regular non hdtv it goes a lot longer before any of this happens, sometimes days in between. games with less video quality are the same but a higher def game will shut it down in munutes.

You'll need to monitor the P/S on line from the main to the power supply.

When the set is shut down, is this pulse there? Or even better, have a meter on it when it shuts down. See if that pulse drops when the set shuts down.

P/S is power supply. The line is usually marked as PS on. It is either a 5vdc or 3.3vdc voltage supplied FROM the main to the P/S. This voltage turns the P/S on.

You will need a multi-meter or anything that can measure and readout voltage in DC.

I can't get super specific with Sanyo at the moment, they took down their site that had all the manuals. But the lines are usually marked on the power supply near the cable running between the power supply and main.

Hope this helps,
Jim
