Thanks, Kaku, for the initial advice. Just to let you know, I have also replaced shorted flyback. Big capacitor 300vdc, 125vdc B+ but still no oscillation at the base of HOT. Oscillation line already resoldered.

check for volts on collector of horizontal driver transistor and also LT feed to horizontal oscillator ic(probably jungle chip)

Thanks, Techchris. Can you elaborate on the LT feed to horizontal oscillator IC (probably jungle chip)...

the drive for the horizontal stage is usually generated in the video/jungle ic ,which requires about 5volts to power it.if missing you wont get any horizontal drive to the output stage.do you have 5volts from the power supply as well as 125v and any other low voltage ie, for sound (generally about 25-40 volts).if not you may have a power supply fault
