slow remote response Can't Post

i have a philips 32pw6315 about 10 years old, when it is first
switched on it works fine, but as it warms up, say 30 mins,
the remote control response time increases considerably,to the
point that if you press a channel button it might take up to one
minute to switch over, the controls on the set do not seem to
work at all???

Sounds like the usual fault, the painter chip panel. I would doubt you could source that now and when you could it was a woeful price.

am i right in thinking the painter panel is switched off, say , when
a dvd is being watched through the tv, its just that after watching a
dvd for a couple of hours and switching back to tv the set seams to work
normally for a while!

No the painter panel or the microprocessor panel is the controller of the TV, only reason I can think of is on a DVD you are not adjusting things, but due to the complexity of the thing ther could be other reasons.
