sony kv32 problems Can't Post

Hello, totally new to this so please be patient. I have a sony kv3265 (tv) that is on the fritz. Once it has been unpluged and powered completely down for an hour or so, it will work fine for a few seconds then the picture starts to go black in a trapezoid manner then completely black. The sound is good though. So my first basic question is: should I try to repair (or have it repaired) or is it shot? To me it seems the CRT is good, just something with the circuitry, which I hope I can just replace a component or one of the boards. I have a VERY basic knowledge of electronics but looking in the tv the boards all seem easily replaceable if I only knew which one. Thanks for the help.

Look like you have a cold solder joint at pincusion circuit

Look on the solder side of circuit you will find couple bad solder joint

near fly back and 3 pin transistor

Good luck

Thanks,

I tried what you suggested and still a no go. When the set is turned on, the warm up light blinks as the sound is heard but then it just doesnt "spark on" like it should. Is that controlled by the circut board on the right side where the power comes in? The large red cable that connects from that board's component to the CRT instinctively seems like that is where the problem lies?

Is there a way to get replacement circut boards from scrapped TV's?

Thanks

The pincusion problem sometimes is hard to repair.

Look like you need to replace Pincusion output transistor and 2 coils near by.

This is well known problem with your model.

Good luck.
