trinitron volume problem

I have a Sony KV32FS100 Trinitron TV. I cannot increase volume via my cable remote. If I increase volume via button on front of TV as soon as I let go of button the volume goes down to 0! I also cannot turn off TV from fron to f TV. I can only turn of control. Any help is appreciated
