so i unplugged everything and took off all the shields to take pics of the boards--plugged everything in again and the TV worked perfect for about 5 min and then it started the flashing again. i was feeling the shielding of the power supply unitt and i was shocked by the shielding--

is this normal?

TV does NOT have a Power Transformer to isolate it from the AC line like 'sets of old.' Is normal. Try NOT to touch a water pipe or other earth ground at the same time - other wise you may get an even more unpleasant surprise.Shocked

ok to clean up this thread and to give some poor sucker like me the benefit of checking EVERY CONNECTION
this problem was caused by a shacky connection between the main board and the control board at the control board end. it looks like it was a preexisting condition as the cable plug in was actually taped to the board to hold it in place and the condition exist on the new control board as well as the old board--i cant put the unit back together because i have to screw with the connection every once in a while other then that it has a perfect picture so where does one get a new cable never mind found it

OK
installed a new cable (LVDS Cable 0460-3351-0152 )
and put the tv back together has been working perfect for a month now--
so looks like the cable went bad??

i have a power supply(Power Board 0500-0507-0481) and control board (VO47L FHDTV30A CONTROLLER BOARD 6870C-4200C) and a used cable (LVDS Cable 0460-3351-0152 ) for sale --cheap
