AKAI VS A650	Can't Post

I was recapping the power supply for this today, because the vcr display had stopped working. Well that was what I was told when I purchased it. When I noticed a space for a cap which is missing. In the service diagram this is marked as c16 47uf 25v. I have tried the unit with this cap installed and without it and it seems to make no difference. What do you think I should do? Also not sure how to attach a pdf of the schematic. Thanks.

Actually I have the schematic already but was wondering how to attach to my message. If you were repairing something and noticed a cap missing that the diagram shows should be there. would you assume it was a revision? Two caps have been replaced previously, that I can see, so it has been worked on in the past.
Basically what I am asking is would you add the cap or leave it as you found it?
Either way the display now works with or without it.
