It sounds like you might have a problem with the convergence ICs. These ICs will have numbers on them starting with 'STK' (Example: STK392-110)

I know your set is a Phillips but here is a link showing a Samsung and how to change the convergence ICs as well as what they look like etc. Just use it as a guide to help find the ICs in you Phillips set. I've also included a link of where to buy these ICs at a good price. -- Dan
