Lightning struck Can't Post
Hi All,
My RCA P60812BL stopped working after a lightning storm. Now, when plug it in all I get is a clicking sound and nothing happens when I hit any of the buttons. The clicking only stops when I pull the plug out. Any ideas?

Steve, do you have a chassis number for that set? Should start with CTC. It's clear the fuse is ok otherwise you wouldn't even have the click. I would start with the power supply, check the bridge or the rectifier diodes and the filter caps, then your regulator and all the resistors/caps/diodes in there.
Let us know how that goes.

It's a PTK195 but after a lightning storm a whole bunch of crap goes wrong, First have to figure out where it was hit, from the power cord or from the tuner input or both. Whith out testing for voltages out of the power supply, or checking for shorted componets in the high voltage. This type of repair could be a nightmare.
But the clicking tells us some of the power supply is working, it's just loaded down from somewhere
